All pupils currently study German in S1 and S2, building on their experience of learning German in the primary school, and can then choose to continue with the study of German in S3, and in the senior phase up to National 4, National 5, CfE Higher  or Advanced Higher level.

Pupils are offered a variety of learning experiences and are regularly given the opportunity to participate in collaborative tasks. The faculty adopts an E.P.I approach in the BGE, making use of sentence builders to introduce new vocabulary, then developing learner autonomy through listening activities, reading tasks, games, etc. Our aim is to promote not only the German language but also the culture of the German-speaking world.
